For a typography project undertaken for a university module, we were required to develop a brand new punctuation mark, which will then adapt to a particular purpose or meaning.
I developed a mark which will indicate volume in speech, to particularly be used within drama scripts.
The arrow shape used is familiar and highly recognisable to many, so would be appropriate to convey shouting or a high pitch, whilst a vertically flipped mark will indicate the opposite.
